Description
Hoot by Carl Hiaasen is a funny, thought-provoking adventure about friendship, standing up to bullies and protecting the natural world.
A mystery with an unexpected mission
Roy Eberhardt isn't thrilled about his family's move to Florida. Then he spots a mysterious boy running barefoot, with no schoolbooks or backpack, and decides to follow him.
The chase leads Roy into a world of unusual characters, new friendships and burrowing owls whose home is threatened by a planned pancake restaurant. Together, Roy and his friends must find a way to protect the owls before the building begins.
With humour and an environmental mystery at its heart, Hoot gives readers plenty to enjoy and discuss, whether reading at home or in class.
